Meet the 2026 Dolores “Mitzi” Michael Women Leaders Scholarship recipient in this video series presented by forbeswaterlootoyota 

This award was established in memory of Dolores “Mitzi” Michael, who served in the Department of Athletics and Recreation from 1972 to 1993. It is awarded annually to a female student who has held a leadership role within Athletics & Recreation and demonstrated strong leadership through team building and enhancing the student experience. 

This year’s recipient is Ashley Woodward, a 4th year Honours Bachelor of Science student. Ashley is the Aquatics Supervisor where she oversees a team of 60 staff taking care of scheduling, reviewing payroll, and ensuring that daily operations of the pool run smoothly.

Ashley will be recognized along with the finalists for the Outstanding Women of Laurier Award at tonight’s gala.
