This weekend in Boise was so.... special. That word doesn't seem to do it justice though. The amount of deep, emotional connections I experienced in such a short period of time has me feeling soulfully full. Full of warm, loving, inspiring energy. 
I am an energy person. I feel energy. Within moments of meeting someone I typically can determine if I want their energy in my life, even if only temporarily. I met so many new wonderful humans. I also re-connected with many people that I know and already love and continued to learn little gems about their lives and passions and struggles. We talked about real shit. Like anxiety, like dealing with divorce as an adult, about cancer, about awesome foreplay and awkward sex, about the struggle of personal morals and the business side of social media, about how hard it is to love someone, but not be IN love with them, we talked about terrifying car accidents and what it feels like to have absolutely no idea what the fuck you are doing with your life, yet having faith that everything will work out ok.

I saw passion in peoples' eyes, I saw stress and fear and extreme pride of personal accomplishment. I saw hope. This weekend reminded me why I'm in the "fitness" industry. It is not about supplements or competitions or social media, it's about the freaking awesome people. The people who go into the gym to work through their shit- who sweat because it's their therapy, who lift so they can run around with their four kids, who eat clean because they want to love their body- for them and no one else. 
Thank YOU. Thank you for sharing your energy with me. Thank you for showing up and being real. Thank you for the bear hugs and selfies. Thank you for telling me that I inspire you (because my god, I feel honored). Thank you for understanding that having abs doesn't make you better than any other human. Thank you for being you. And thank you bodybuildingcom for continuing to be the forum and foundation for people to come together to find inspiration and knowledge. Sending you all a giant freaking hug.
