Some days ago, I had the privilege of addressing the bright students of the Department of Social Work at Hindustan College of Arts & Science, Hindustan University on a subject very close to my heart – the importance of Human Rights Education.

In my session, I emphasized that human rights are not just written words in international declarations or constitutions, but living principles that safeguard the dignity and equality of every human being. For students of social work, understanding and defending these rights is not merely an academic pursuit – it is a moral responsibility that will shape them into true advocates of social justice.

I believe youth, especially those entering the field of social work, carry an extraordinary role in bridging the gap between communities and institutions. Their voice, energy, and commitment can transform policies into practice and bring justice closer to the people who need it most.

As I shared during the lecture:

“The greatest threat to humanity is not the denial of rights, but the negligence towards them. When rights are ignored, injustice finds its strongest ground.”

I am deeply thankful to the faculty and students of Hindustan University for their warm welcome, engaging discussions, and commitment to shaping a better world. Their enthusiasm strengthened my conviction that the future of human rights advocacy is in safe hands.

Together, let us continue to nurture a society where rights are respected, voices are protected, and justice is accessible to all. 

I truly appreciate our Youth Ambassador, jaipreetaswani, a proud alumnus of Hindustan College of Arts & Science, whose dedication and efforts made this session possible.
