My early running days were marked by a challenging lesson when I experienced a shin stress fracture. Despite the pain, I stubbornly pushed through, neglecting professional advice. This experience taught me the importance of not overlooking injuries and taking adequate time off to heal. After three years of running, I’ve developed a keen understanding of the post-run soreness and pain following intense workouts. Distinguishing between inflammation and potential injury has become second nature. Grateful for this insight and by the grace of God, I’ve remained injury-free for the past two years, emphasizing the significance of proper recovery and listening to my body in maintaining long-term running health.
