And while I may have snuck in a cliched and rosy-colored vow to never go to bed angry and always seal each night with a kiss, our other vows have stood the test of time. And in case you need a reminder… I promised to love you forever and always, knowing you to be your best self, even when you don’t see it. I promised to take turns being the little spoon and the big spoon...but mainly the little spoon. I promised that our future children would grow up in a home where they know how much their parents are in love and they know how much they are loved. You promised to be my best friend and to always listen for my commitment. You promised to always know where we are or how to get to where we’re going....and if not, to be the one to ask for directions. You promised to build a Jewish home with me, teaching our future children where they come from and to always give when we have the means to do so. You promised to hold my hand and take me on adventures of a lifetime. And together, we bother promised each other to always keep choosing one another. You continue to guide me and our family as our navigation queen. And you do so with such ease and grace. Our children know how deeply they are loved and wanted. And they never fail to make those classic yet giggly “ew, gross” sounds when they see us kiss. 10 years after “I do” and I still damn do. You are the one choice in my life I have never once doubted. You are my rock. My soul mate. My puzzle piece. I vow to continue playing with you; to continue growing and expanding our life and our commitments, especially if it’s scary or uncomfortable. I vow to continue creating a Jewish, safe, loving, and warm home with you. For our children. Our friends. Our family. And our community. I vow to always get complete with you.
