And just like that, for the first time in 7 years, I am not pregnant or breastfeeding. 🤱🏻 I’ve been procrastinating this post — a milestone, sure — but something I’m still trying to wrap my head around. 

Since getting pregnant with Thea seven years ago, I have either been pregnant, breastfeeding, or both. My body not my own. A joy and a pleasure and a gift. But also full of sacrifice, hardships, and tears. 

I remember when Thea was born, making a goal just to make it to 6 weeks of exclusively breastfeeding her. 

Now, three kids later, I breastfeed Thea until her third birthday; Nathan just shy of his second; and Zoe just recently stopped, days after turning two. 

✨All of them exclusively breastfed for their first year. 
✨Nathan and Zoe both weened on their own terms. 
✨I tandem fed Thea and Nathan. 
✨None used bottles or pacifiers. 

My breastfeeding journey and I’ll I’ve learned about the power of breast milk, my body, my babies, and the breastfeeding community, is by far, one of my most biggest and cherished accomplishments of my life. 

And I don’t share this to brag or for attention — despite what the trolls will say. I share this to provide hope, to be a resource, and raise awareness for those looking for a village with mamas like me. 

To my sweet babies — thank you. Thank you for all you’ve taught me through our breastfeeding journey. The bonding, the tough love, the giggles, the company, the tenderness. Thank you for trusting me and my body to nourish you and to comfort you. 

Can’t believe this journey has come to an end.
