Meet Laura Estremera! 🎉👩‍🎓
Laura is a driven and talented student, pursuing three majors! She is currently getting her Masters in Spanish, with a BS in Computer Science and a BA in Digital Art. Originally from Puerto Rico, Laura has found a second home at UNCW. She appreciates the nature Wilmington has to offer between the state parks and aquariums. 
Despite her diverse academic interests, Laura still manages to enjoy and excel in her math and computer science classes. She particularly enjoys the challenge and logic behind discrete mathematical theories. One of her favorite professors has been Ms. Peter's from an Algebra class. Not only is she an wonderful educator, but also an academic mentor to her students inside and outside of the classroom.
When not in class, Laura enjoys arts, drawing, and gardening. She even contributes to UNCW’s Flare magazine in the design department, as well as serving on the Art & Design committee. Laura lives within a 5 minute walk from UNCW campus in an off campus house. Her favorite spot to go is Wrightsville beach, where she enjoys the calming nature and uses it as release from the day-to-day routine.

Laura’s advice for incoming Seahawks: 
“Don’t be afraid to be alone. Go to the gym, library, and dining hall by yourself. Listen to your thoughts, body, and emotions. Find yourself first and you will find your friends”. 
& “It’s okay to change your opinion. You are not a static character.”

Favorite Spot to Eat: Shako Taco (on Campus), Hiroshima Japanese restaurant (off Campus)

Fun Fact: Doesn’t like ice cream.
