Roommates, TikToker #BrenayKennard has been ordered to pay up while she fights a major lawsuit tied to the breakup of #AkiraMontague, and according to wral, a judge in Durham, N.C., ordered Brenay to pay $40,000 while she appeals a $1.75 million judgment after she was found responsible for the end of Akira Montague’s marriage to her ex-husband Tim.

As we previously reported, in the viral case last November, a jury sided with Montague, who accused Kennard of “alienation of affection” and “criminal conversation.” Those claims allege that Kennard intentionally helped break up the marriage and had a relationship with Montague’s husband. These types of lawsuits are rare and recognized in only a few states, including North Carolina.

During a recent court hearing, Kennard testified for more than an hour about her finances, telling the court the allegations have hurt her ability to secure brand deals and earn money online. She also claimed the case, along with a cyberstalking charge, has made it difficult for her to find work outside of social media, including a substitute teaching position in Wake County. ___________________________
