Most people think abs come from doing more ab workouts.

They don’t.

Abs are already there. Everyone has them.

What determines whether you see them is how much body fat is covering them.

You could do leg raises, crunches, and planks every day, but if your nutrition isn’t supporting fat loss, your abs stay hidden.

Here is what actually reveals abs:

• Consistently eating enough protein (around .7–1g per pound of bodyweight helps preserve muscle while losing fat)

• Being in a small calorie deficit over time (not extreme dieting)

• Progressive strength training to maintain muscle

• Daily movement (steps matter more than most people realize)

• Sleep (fat loss hormones are heavily impacted by poor sleep)

• Consistency longer than motivation lasts

Ab exercises still have value. They build strength, improve performance, and help core stability.

But they do NOT override nutrition.

You cannot out-train habits that don’t support your goals.

If your goal is visible abs, focus less on doing more ab workouts and more on building the daily habits that actually uncover them.

That’s the unsexy truth most programs don’t tell you.

Save this if you want a realistic approach to getting lean.
