Yoji “George” Hamawaki, a former executive at Kawasaki, passed away on April 18, 2023, at the age of 76. 

Hamawaki had a long and distinguished career in the powersports industry, and his contributions to the growth and success of Kawasaki are still felt today.

Born in Tokyo in 1947, Hamawaki began his career in 1972, when he joined Kawasaki. During his time at the company, he held a number of executive positions, including Vice Chairman and President of Kawasaki.

Under Hamawaki’s leadership, Kawasaki expanded into new markets and developed innovative new products.

Hamawaki was also instrumental in the development of the company’s aerospace division, which produced cutting-edge technology for both civilian and military aircraft.

In addition to his work at Kawasaki, Hamawaki was known for his philanthropic work and dedication to education.
