Andrew Garfield is shading J.K. Rowling amidst the ongoing debate around the ‘Harry Potter’ legacy. 👀

During a recent ‘Hits Radio’ interview, Andrew said people “shouldn’t be putting money in the pocket of inhumane legislation right now,” clarifying that he was referring to “she that shall remain nameless” (presumably Rowling) and alluding to her very public anti-trans views.

He admitted he only recently watched the films for the first time, adding that he knows the conversation around them is controversial but you “can’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.” He elaborated that despite his criticism of Rowling, the franchise’s creative team and especially Daniel Radcliffe, still deserve praise for what they created.

His comments come as renewed attention surrounds the upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ HBO TV reboot and the wider debate around the franchise’s legacy.
