Today, I had the privilege of caddying for my 6-year-old son in his final spring tournament of the Junior Champions League.
He placed 2nd out of over 50 incredibly talented young golfers — his first time placing. 🥈

As a proud parent, this isn’t a post about medals. It’s about growth, grit, and the quiet work no one sees.

Last year, my son missed the cut in both the fall and spring seasons. I watched his confidence take a hit. I held him as he cried, trying to understand why effort didn’t always equal immediate reward.

In that moment, I had to explain a difficult truth — that sometimes others may cut corners, that life doesn’t always feel fair, but the real winners are the ones who keep going, keep showing up, and earn it.

Over the past year, I’d catch him practicing his swing in his room, chipping on the backyard putting green before school — unprompted, uncoached. Just internal drive.

At a very young age, he’s learning something many adults still wrestle with:
👉 No one can want success for you more than you.
👉 You don’t rise by accident. You rise by effort.

Whether it’s in business, sports, or life — consistency, focus, and integrity still win.

This weekend, he walked off the green with a medal. But in truth, he won long before the first swing.
