## Caption

Sankranti is one of the most important and biggest festivals of Andhra Pradesh, especially celebrated with great spirit in rural areas.

Even though I’m from a town, luckily this time I got to celebrate the festival in a village, experiencing the real joy and vibe of Sankranti.

Day 1 – Bhogi 🔥
We started the festival with a traditional Bhogi bonfire in front of the house, using small wooden logs along with some sneaker boxes and Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra parcel boxes 😄. Friends gathered early in the morning, had tea and coffee, and spent time discussing random things — simple moments, pure happiness.

Day 2 – Sankranti 🐓
One of my friends informed us about కోడి పందాలు (rooster fights). Excited and a little scared, we went to watch it. After reaching there, I was completely shocked — around 200 bikes and nearly 20 cars, full of josh and energy everywhere. People holding roosters with so much care, others cheering loudly — watching కోడి పందాలు for the first time was an awesome experience 🤩🤩.

Day 3 – Kanuma 🐄🪁
Kanuma is the day when cows are decorated and taken near the bonfire, made to walk around it as part of the tradition. Since we don’t have many relatives in rural areas who invite us for the festival, we celebrated with friends on our terrace by flying kites. The same friend who informed us earlier came again, helped us tie the thread, and taught us how to fly a kite — my first-ever kite flying experience, and it was amazing.
We ended the day with a small dinner at a dhaba and wrapped up Kanuma with a mix of happiness… and the fear of logging in to work the next day 😅.
Grateful and happy to have celebrated all three days of Sankranti with so much joy. 💛🪁🔥
