Abdou reached 34 meters his best dive yet.
This dive shows how small technical details can completely change energy efficiency underwater.

When a diver is not streamlined knees bent, fins wide, arms loose
drag force can reach around 54 newtons.

In perfect alignment head down, body tight, fins in line —
drag drops to about 20 newtons.

Let’s see what that means 👇

⸻

Example: 34 m Ascent

Work = Force × Distance
	•	Messy form: 54 N × 34 m = 1,836 joules
	•	Perfect streamline: 20 N × 34 m = 680 joules

🔹 Energy saved: 1,836 – 680 = ≈1,150 joules
🔹 That’s ~63% less energy spent fighting drag.

⸻

At depth, that efficiency lets gravity pull you down at 1 m/s with zero effort —
then saves oxygen on the way back up when it matters most.

Less drag = less effort = more depth and more safety.
