📍 A slow walk through Eminönü, Istanbul

Istanbul has hosted many civilisations over centuries Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans 🏛️
and you can still feel that layered history most clearly around Eminönü.

This area has always been a meeting point for trade, travel, and daily life 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

If you have time, start with a short ferry ride ⛴️
You don’t need a full Bosphorus tour even a simple local ferry crossing gives you a good sense of the city from the water 🌊
It’s affordable, easy, and very much part of everyday Istanbul life.

Back on land, walking is the best way to explore 👣
You’ll see street vendors selling roasted chestnuts and boiled corn 🌰🌽,
locals grabbing a quick snack, and tourists slowly taking everything in 📸

For food, keep it classic 🍽️

narrow passages, small family-run shops, and a pace that hasn’t changed much over the years.

And of course, tea ☕️
A small glass of Turkish tea here isn’t a “break”, it’s just how the day flows.
You’ll see people standing by the counter, sitting on low stools, watching the street 
no rush, no plan, just tea and conversation.🫂

Eminönü isn’t about rushing from place to place.
