Some neighbourhoods in Istanbul don’t try to impress you.

They simply exist - with memory, patience, and character 🕰️
Kuzguncuk is one of them.

For centuries, Kuzguncuk has been a place where a mosque, a church, and a synagogue stood side by side on the same streets 🕌⛪️🕍
That alone explains the spirit of this neighbourhood.
Its wooden houses may have faded in colour, but not in soul.
You naturally slow down here - these streets were never built for hurry.

This is also where a Turkish breakfast truly makes sense ☕️🍞🧀
In Turkey, breakfast is not just food.
It’s time spent together.
Tea is poured again and again, conversations linger, and no one checks the clock.
Simple dishes, deep tradition.

Following the Bosphorus, you reach Çengelköy 🌊
Known since Ottoman times for its gardens and calm waterfront,
Çengelköy was once a quiet escape for sultans.
Here, the sea isn’t just a view - it becomes part of the air you breathe.

Sitting by the shore, you understand why Istanbul was once an imperial city.
Quiet confidence. No need to show off.

And then there are the cats 🐈
In Istanbul, cats are not decoration.
They belong here - independent, observant, completely at ease.
Just like the city itself.

Kuzguncuk and Çengelköy are among the rare places where Istanbul still feels like Istanbul.
They don’t perform. They don’t explain.
They simply remain.

And that’s exactly what makes them special❤️

Save this route for a calm Istanbul day by the Bosphorus.📝
