Top three shoes for HYROX

If you’re serious about performance and chasing faster times, these are the elite options worth the investment. They’re expensive — but they’re built for speed, efficiency, and consistent effort over long distances plus mixed movement.

If you’re just training for fun or learning the sport, prioritize a running shoe that fits your foot well and feels good on longer runs.

Here are my top picks for race day:

1. Nike Zoom Fly Six
This shoe blends a responsive carbon-inspired plate with smooth foam that helps carry pace on long runs and steady efforts. It’s forgiving enough for tempo runs, yet efficient enough for fast stages, which matches HYROX’s mixed intensity demands.

2. Saucony Endorphin Pro 4
Saucony’s carbon-plated flagship is balanced, stable, and extremely efficient at maintaining pace. It works well for athletes who want a shoe that supports controlled threshold running and race pace without feeling harsh on longer aerobic days.

3. Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 4
A lightweight racer with excellent energy return. The Nitro Elite cushioning paired with internal plating helps you sustain effort when your heart rate is high and your legs are tired — a perfect match for HYROX’s back half demands.

⚠️ Caveat: You don’t need a carbon shoe to enjoy or succeed in HYROX. If you’re training casually or are newer to the sport, a well-fitting running shoe with good traction and comfort is a much better first step than simply chasing premium gear.

Pick a shoe that fits your foot, supports your running volume, and gives you confidence on race day.
