I joined theaftd and other advocates at the Capitol to meet with legislators and witness California’s resolution for FTD Awareness Week. It’s another important step in giving this disease the visibility and urgency it deserves.
While we were there, I learned that three people inside the Capitol also had lived experience with FTD. It struck me again that what’s called a “rare disease” doesn’t always feel so rare.
That’s why sharing matters. Every story told helps someone else feel less alone and it shows the world that FTD is touching far more families than most realize. Awareness grows when we speak up, and awareness is what will drive change to end FTD 💙
