HYROX Chicago 2025 Spectator Guide

If you are coming to watch the race, here is everything you need to know in simple terms so the entire event makes sense.

How HYROX works
The race is eight runs and eight workouts.
You run a lap.
You do a station.
You run another lap.
You do the next station.
You repeat that pattern until you finish all eight.
Fastest time wins.

Every athlete does the same order.
Ski
Sled Push
Sled Pull
Burpee Broad Jumps
Row
Farmer Carry
Sandbag Lunges
Wall Balls

If you understand that, you can follow the entire race.

What to expect at the Chicago layout

The bridge
There might be bridge built over the course that allows you to move across the venue without cutting through runners. This makes it much easier to get around and change viewing spots while the race is happening.

The Ski Erg
This area looks very difficult to see athletes clearly. The machines are tight, there is not much room around them, and visibility is limited. If you want good photos or video, this is not the place.

The runs
You can see athletes on every run. They will come through after every station.

The grandstands
If you want to see lunges and wall balls, you need to get to the grandstands. These stations take place inside the arena floor, and the elevated seating gives you the best view. Without the grandstands, your view will be blocked by crowds.
