Mohammed Habib Abbas one of the first, if not the first martyr that fell to his death on Tahrir Square ground in Baghdad Iraq.
Meeting his parents was devastating. They lost their oldest son in the battle to liberate #Mosul and Mohammed in Tahrir Square. Both died fighting.
The mom asked me “do we look like we’re getting paid by an embassy? Look at our house”
Today marks a year since Mohammed’s death and no one was held responsible.
700 others just like Mohammed died on this day and the following days a year ago, leaving their families simply because they wanted a better life.
