What is VHT? 

A new tax is aimed at encouraging property owners to rent out vacant homes, increasing housing availability.

Who's Affected? Owners of residential properties that have been vacant for more than 6 months within the tax year.

Tax Rate: 1% of the property's assessed value for the vacant period.

Declaration Required: All homeowners must declare their property status annually.
Exemptions & Rebates Available: Conditions apply for renovations, principal resident death, and ownership transfer.
