WHY SHOULD WE MARCH?

The hair and beauty industry is collapsing. Salons are shutting, apprenticeships are disappearing, and by 2030, 93% of jobs could be gone.

We’ve been sold a lie. That if we work harder, hustle longer, push through, we’ll make it. That if we struggle, it’s because we’re not doing enough. But it’s not a lack of effort—it’s a system designed to keep us isolated, exhausted, and easy to control.

Meanwhile, the rich and powerful work together, protecting their interests while we fight just to survive. That’s how they win—by keeping us thinking as individuals, not as a collective.

But we don’t have to accept it. On 17th March, we march. Not just for VAT reform, but to prove that we are still here, that we matter, and that we refuse to be erased.
	•	Barbers, march for the apprentices who will never get their chance.
	•	Salon owners, march for the businesses that won’t survive another year without change.
	•	Freelancers, march for a future where self-employment isn’t a struggle for survival.
	•	Beauty professionals, march because this fight is coming for you too.

Wear black. Bring a chair. Show the world what we do. Hold up signs and make it clear: we won’t be ignored.

We’ve been told to go it alone. That’s the biggest lie of all. The only way we win is together.
