Spending a bit more time on Halka 12, a botanical planet in the 7th Octant.

Aside from megalomaniac pollinators, the planet is a haven for many wanting to gain a new perspective and reconnect with a quieter slice of Union life. Julia, the botanical scientist who had an otherworldly experience with a chromatic anomaly (posted 11th March 25), can also be found here. Initially, it was for recovery—a leave of absence prior to returning to the fleet- but what started as a few weeks gradually shifted into something longer. The kindred spirits she met there transformed Halka from a refuge into a home in her mind. A long-desired passion for architecture unfolded, and over time, the idea of leaving felt impossible. After all these years on the move, had she found her place?

But Halka 12, as it did Julia initially,  usually draws people for short stays, including those who leave their mark. For all its joy, there’s a melancholy to the many goodbyes one must say on Halka 12.
