🐟 Fish farming was supposed to save our oceans. It didn't. It made everything worse.

📊 In the mid-1970s, only 10% of fish stocks were overfished. Today it's 35%, and wild catch hasn't declined at all. Aquaculture didn't replace wild fishing. It added to it.

🍣 The Norwegian salmon industry spent tens of millions every year on global marketing. They convinced Japan, a country that never ate raw salmon, to put it in sushi. That's not meeting demand. That's manufacturing it.

🔬 When scientists found toxic contaminants in farmed salmon, the industry didn't fix the problem , they attacked the research, funded studies, and lobbied policymakers to protect their profits.

🌊 In Chile, dead farmed salmon dumped into the ocean triggered a massive toxic algal bloom that wiped out local fisheries.

🐠 It takes wild fish to feed farmed fish — and only 19% of the protein actually makes it to your plate. The rest is wasted.

❌ Fish farming didn't save the oceans. It engineered demand for a product that drains more resources than it creates.
