That’s a GAN: a Generative Adversarial Network.

One AI tries to generate fake images.
The other tries to detect them.
They push each other until the fakes look real.

GANs were a huge leap in generative AI. And while not all deepfakes use GANs today, many of the early breakthroughs started here.
