Virgil Ortiz will present an artist talk at the Lowe Museum in Miami on December 8. Join us for the Lowe Art Museum’s flagship Art Basel event, Bubbles and Brunch, featuring Virgil Ortiz: The Future of History!
This event includes a brunch-time champagne reception for Art Week participants and Lowe members from 9 to 11 a.m. It will be followed by a lecture with the distinguished artist and designer Virgil Ortiz from 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Virgil Ortiz has masterfully redefined what it means to be a contemporary Native American artist, successfully navigating the global art world while remaining deeply connected to his Cochiti Pueblo traditions. Ortiz’s epic retelling of the 1680 Pueblo Revolt gradually unfolds, illustrating past and present-day social issues and envisioning the future.
