I'll share all the resource you need to get selected in gsoc 2026, write proposals, choose orgs, contact mentors, avoid rejection, and Thousands apply every year. 
Only a few get selected. And the difference is NOT luck - it's preparation, communication, and proof of work.

Most students start late, get confused between 200+ organizations, send generic messages to mentors, and write proposals that look like school essays.
If you want to actually get selected:

✓ Start contributing NOW
✔ Understand the codebase deeply, choose Talk to mentors early (before deadlines) on and Build trust through meaningful PRs Pick one org and stick to it need

Don't copy-paste proposals

And most importantly -

STOP thinking you are "not good enough." Open source is built by developers like you. You just need guidance, consistency, and clarity

GSOC doesn't reward talent. It rewards people who show up early!
