Recently, along with our underarmour leadership team and city (mayorbmscott ) and school officials, I had a chance to celebrate a community impact program we call “Project Rampart.” In short, through this program we’ve outfitted EVERY single varsity athlete in EVERY baltcityschools high school since 2017. We also renovated every BCPSS high school gym and provided valuable training resources for coaches through this same program. 

As a result, we have data that shows a direct correlation between athletic participation and a significant uptick in graduation rate. In fact, the graduation rate for students that participate in a varsity sport all four years increases from 63% to 98%. Sports can change the world and I can think of no better impact on a city than empowering its young people. 

Our call to action at UA is WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE! Well, through Rampart—defined as a “protective barrier” around a city—we are doing just that. My hope and vision is that this becomes a model that we can replicate in other cities like Baltimore and truly make a difference through the power of sport. #ProjectRampart #TeamUA #CommunityImpact #PowerofSport #ProtectThisHouse
