Do you want to know what I really want my daughter to learn from me?

I want her to learn…

That you don’t have to be perfect to try.
That you don’t have to be fearless to be brave.
Try anyway.
Fall.
Look silly.
Do the hard thing.

You’ll either grow, or you’ll learn and both are beautiful.

I want her to see that being a woman is not something to fix or to harden. 
Softness is not a weakness.
Our empathy, slowness, cycles and bodies are not problems to solve.

They’re power.
Sacred.
A holy ground we get the privilege to live in.

I want her to learn to use her voice.
To speak up, even when it’s hard.
To say what’s true, even if it’s messy.
Even if her voice shakes.

Because her words matter.

I want her to know:
You don’t need to be loud to be heard.
You don’t need to be hard to be strong.
You don’t need to be like a man to be respected.

That success isn’t money.
It’s peace.
It’s joy.

It’s waking up in a life that feels good in your bones.

I want her to know my scars aren’t hers to carry.
They are mine.

And mine alone.

That “I’m sorry” and “I love you”
and “I messed up”
aren’t heavy.

They’re healing.

That kindness isn’t about being nice. It’s about being true.

A little softness can change everything.

And through it all,
I want her to know that home is safe.
Always.
No perfect words. No shame.

Just a soft place to land.

I hope she learns she never has to figure it all out alone.

If she knows these things…
I think she might just be okay.
