6th of december.. german Nikolaus day.
in Germany kids put their  shoes out of the door before bedtime, and Nikolaus gives them a present during their sleep.  They wake up, run to the door, and find their presents, like candy or some little things. 
thats how i experienced it, thats how my kids have experienced it. 
heres what you get for Nikolaus day from Zokilaus :
