Most people don’t realise how common ADHD masking is… 🎭

It can show up as:
– Being articulate in meetings
– Holding eye contact even when it’s uncomfortable
– Laughing at the right moments
– Suppressing impulsive thoughts
– Toning down your intensity
– Rehearsing before you speak
– Replaying everything after you leave

From the outside? Confidence.
On the inside? Constant calibration.

Masking is a nervous system strategy - not manipulation, not inauthenticity.

It’s what happens when you learn early that being fully yourself wasn’t always safe, accepted, or understood. ❤️‍🩹

If this resonates, you’re not “too much.”
You likely just learned to monitor yourself before you learned to trust yourself.

Unmasking doesn’t always mean becoming louder.
It means becoming safer in your own skin.

Use your masking as information.

Sometimes the goal isn’t to change yourself.
It’s to change the environment that made you feel you had to.

Let me know in the comments if this resonates with you too 🤍
