#NuTeknoloji has introduced an operator-independent private Internet of Things (#IoT) communication infrastructure based on non-cellular #5G (DECT NR+), enabling institutions to establish their own private IoT networks without relying on telecom operators.

According to a statement from the company, Nu Teknoloji, an R&D firm operating within Dijitalpark Technokent, emphasized that the #5Gecosystem is expanding beyond traditional operator networks and driving transformation in IoT and critical infrastructure systems.

As telecom operators in Türkiye prepare to launch 5G services, the technology is expected to play a growing role not only in mobile communications but also in enabling connectivity among millions of devices—from energy facilities to agricultural sites.
The International Telecommunication Union’s IMT-2020 framework defines 5G through multiple technology standards. While 3GPP’s 5G NR dominates the cellular segment, the DECT-2020 NR (NR+) standard—developed particularly for machine-to-machine communication and industrial IoT applications—is also recognized as part of the broader 5G ecosystem.

Nu Teknoloji’s solution operates in license-free spectrum bands and does not require SIM cards. Using a mesh network architecture, devices can communicate directly with each other, allowing sensors and devices to share data with low energy consumption.
