Guavas might not be in season… but when you spot them roadside, you don’t ask questions — you take them home 🤍

This baked guava & whipped feta situation is one of my favourite ways to use fruit that’s a little overripe. Sweet, savoury, jammy, creamy… everything you want on a slice of toasted bread.

I kept it simple and used ingredients I genuinely love cooking with — including some beautiful pantry staples from african_oils_official that just happen to work so well here.

Save this one for late afternoons, sharing plates, or honestly… dinner.

Baked Guavas with Whipped Feta

For the baked guavas:
• Guavas, quartered
• Cape fynbos olive oil
• Tomato balsamic vinegar
• Honey
• Coriander & black pepper salt
• Fresh thyme

Bake at 200°C for 15–20 minutes until soft, caramelised, and jammy.

For the whipped feta:
• Feta
• Garlic cloves
• Tahini
• Honey
• Cape fynbos olive oil

Blend until smooth and creamy (this takes a minute — patience is rewarded).

Spread the whipped feta onto a plate, spoon over the warm guavas, drizzle over all those good baking juices, and serve with toasted bread.

✨ Don’t skip the drizzle.
