Being pretty vulnerable here 🫣

I put on a good smile and try to be a beacon for so many people. I’ve been doing it professionally for at least a decade.

But I’m just as human as anyone else and have my moments too.

Especially during the winter season, or even a simple cloudy day! ❄️ ☁️

I have what I believe is a mild-moderate version of “Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)”

As per draxe.com:

“Seasonal affective disorder symptoms vary from person to person. Generally, symptoms might start out mild and become more severe during the peak winter months of December through February. They start to ease up once sunnier spring days begin emerging.

People suffering from SAD experience:

😔 a decrease in energy
😔 trouble sleeping
😔 a loss of interest in activities
😔 difficulty concentrating
😔 depressive feelings
😔 a decreased sex drive
😔 appetite or weight gain changes —

Sugar addiction and cravings for carbs and other comfort foods are also common…”

It just ain’t it!

This is why I love and thrive more in the summer ☀️

So, to nip these symptoms in the bud, here’s what I normally do:

✅ Eat lots of living whole foods (fruits, vegetables, sprouted nuts and seeds etc.)
✅ Exercise every day (even if it’s for 3 minutes)
✅ Get outside to be in nature + soak up as much sunlight as I can
✅ Practice cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), focusing on positive solutions to improve my thoughts, feelings and behaviors
✅ Read uplifting books
✅ Take daily vitamins - especially vitamin D
✅ Take natural nootropics and a stress support supplement (only on days I feel really down)
✅ Connect with positive, fun people that add happiness to my life
✅ Do things that I love

As an empath and having a career which requires me to show up for others, it’s not at all easy, but it’s how I cope and allows me to still be light to others.

Can you relate to any of this? 🤷🏽‍♂️

DM me or comment. Would be nice to know I’m not the only one.
