It's grilling season and these bacon-wrapped chicken lollipops are a guaranteed crowd pleaser for your next backyard gathering and walmart has your covered. I'm using tysonbrand fresh chicken drumsticks and wrightbrand applewood smoked bacon. . . --------------------------- Ingredients: Tyson Fresh Drumsticks Wright Applewood Bacon Your favorite BBQ Rub BBQ Sauce --------------------------- BB Sauce: - 1 CU Ketchup 1 CU Apple Cider Vinegar 1/3 CU Yellow Mustard 1/2 CU Brown Sugar 1TBS Onion Powder 1 tsp Garlic Powder 1/4 tsp Chili Powder 1/4 tsp Salt Dash of Worcestershire --------------------------- Prep your grill for indirect cooking with all the lit charcoal banked to one side of the grill and preheat to around 350-375ยบ. Prep your chicken drumsticks by slicing bottom to form a base for the leg to stand on. Next, slice off the top knuckle of the leg with a sharp knife. Make a slit under that cut just over the bulk of the meat. Then slide the top half of the skin off the bone and push the meat down forming our lollipop. Remove the remainder of the skin completely. You can now season the chicken with your favorite BBQ seasoning. Now let's take one slice of our bacon and tightly wrap the chicken and secure it with a toothpick. Cover the exposed bone with a thin piece of tin foil. Continue to repeat the process with all of your chicken. . Once our grill is ready, place the lollipops on the indirect side of the grill opposite the charcoal. For added smokey flavor, you can place some fruit wood over your charcoal. Cover the grill and cook for 40min. . After 40-45min, brush the BBQ sauce over the chicken lollipops. Continue to grill for another 5min to set the sauce.
