It’s rare that mornings look like this, but when they do.. 🫶

Let’s chat morning routine. There are 4 chronotypes - meaning we are all wired differently to perform optimally at different times of the day.

I am not a morning person, never have been, never will be. I used to be up at 5am, smoking a cigarette downing an espresso and being on a spinning bike at 6am. Yuck, yuck, yuck. I made it work and actually felt quite good (fake energy running on cortisol and adrenaline) but in hindsight it was wildly damaging to my biology and my hormonal profiles and was the total opposite of what my autoimmune disorder needed.

The truth is: really I thrive from about 11am - 11pm. I used to feel such apprehension and tension internally to wake up, grab my phone, check my emails and rush to 7am, 8am or 9am calls often without eating and just grabbing a coffee until I realized it was just not the energetic foundation that I want to start my day with. That doesn’t work for me.. and it doesn’t work for my biology, nor the people I work with either because I’m not the best version of me.

The moment that I took the initiative to start slower in the morning, to always give myself time to eat breakfast + then move; prepare to expand and then start my calls from 10-11 onwards, I found a structure that worked for me so much more.

So, remember that just because someone else is in the 5am club doesn’t mean that you should be. Starting to understand your own unique biology and supporting it, not shaming it, is a huge part of my work. 🤍
