Tonight as family, friends, and colleagues remember the life and times of incredible beer industry pioneer and family man Art Larrance we raise our glasses high and welcome this very special collaboration with cascade.brewing, one of many we are humbly and carefully creating as they wind down. Staying Hoptimistic (2024) is a blend of pale farmhouse ales aged at Cascade an average of 24mos in French oak hogsheads and substantially hopped and dry-hopped with Strata, Sabro, Krush, and most recently Cascade in cryo fresh hop form, adding resonance amid layers of grapefruit-y complexity to an angular yet balanced, mouthwatering libation. We’d like to think that Art would enjoy this beer which never would have been possible without his ingenuity, passion, and leadership in the world of barrel-aged sour beers. (The bottle of Apricot is simply awaiting another moment for another proper toast.)Staying Hoptimistic is now available tonight on tap at the farm and in select beer bars around the region very shortly via dayonepdx.
