I’ve debated posting this a lot and now that it’s posted, I probably won’t ever rewatch it — but it’s real and I think people need to see it.

My lowest moment..

the respiratory team was amazing. The moments after when I slowly came back to reality — after laying in a coma, stiff positioned for days weren’t great.

I don’t know when I have seizures so when my mom told me I had 9, I felt so low. Rushing through all of the emotions.
All of the moments after you wake up happen so fast. You still can’t think properly. You’re in pain. You’re trying to catch up on the days you missed/ actually understand it then a doctor comes to assess and sometimes even interrogate.

You want to advocate for yourself so bad. We know our diagnoses like the back of our hands. But you can barely talk, barely concentrate, yet what we do convey is almost muscle memory.

In my particular case, I also have gastroparesis, GERD, and ulcerative colitis. A cocktail that has left me TPN dependent for a 1 1/2 years. All my nutrition is pumped into my veins from a bag.

In the past I failed my NG/NJ tubes because I threw everything up including the tube in my nose at one point. I was very clear in writing that I was not to have that placed. My decision makers (authorized representatives) were my dad and Ruben.

but they asked my mom about the tubes saying “she won’t get medication or nutrition any other way”. They took out my central line due to my blood infection. However, they can still use a midline for PPN — temporary alternative. My mom has never stayed in the hospital with me like my dad. She doesn’t know this process or my body. She did her best but she wasn’t an authorized representative for a reason.

Realizing the tube in nose after throwing up continuous massive amounts, I asked the doctor to take it out. I knew I had a line and TPN for a reason. That’s when I lost it. I woke up to a new world and I wasn’t okay.

So I cried — I cried for my dad
