I haven’t been able to catch a tonic clonic seizure on home cameras in a while. Mostly, because Echo is good at his job and brings me medication to stop seizures before they happen.

During this video, Echo brought emergency medication in a syringe but it was too late. It’s prepped and kept on a shelf in the room most of the time.

This was an abnormal seizure and happened very suddenly.

During seizures, I have no idea what’s happening. Echo is the reason I have safety and independence when I’m alone or in public.

This was at my parent’s house and no one was home. Echo barks to alert everyone around that I’m about to have a seizure. If there’s no furniture around, he lays on me to keep my joints in place. (I have easy joint dislocations due to vEDS). I was around furniture so he made the independent decision not to lay on me.

I have a massive bruise on my back from being against his ramp.

No one was here to flip me on my side so I choked up saliva at the end.

It took over an hour in the post-ictal phase of this seizure to finally come out of a neurologically impaired state.

When I watched this video back, I thought two things.

1. I’m so thankful for and proud of echo
2. This looks a little embarrassing, mostly terrifying, and I was all alone (no human help)

We are unpacking the emergency button once again so that echo can push it and call for help. Apologize for a dark video. It’s a rainy day and I wasn’t expecting to capture a seizure.
