Answering pregnancy questions amidst serious conditions. I know it’s scary for a lot of people so I wanted to be transparent.

The dogs wouldn’t be able to come into the NICU anyways but having that hair and dander on me could be dangerous to the baby. My safety is important but the cons outweigh the pros for me.

I learned a lot in my first pregnancy and have been able to manage seizures easier. 

I have had “morning sickness” (worse in first trimester) the entire pregnancy for both babies but again, I manage it SO much better this time and it can really happen to anyone.

Certain eggs can be removed to prevent certain gene mutations via IVF. However, if you have a condition, you know what your quality of life is. I wouldn’t change my life because it makes me who I am. It’s not my place or any ‘non doctor’s’ place to tell someone not to have children due to genes.

Exercise, eating healthy, and sleep has been the variables really “saving me” with all my medical conditions aside from medication.

Discussing a c section is always an option. It’s not always the best decision for everyone! Especially if seizures are triggered post OP. You will have postpartum contractions and that’s a variable to keep in mind as well. For me, my body could not handle pushing. 

I “went into labor” and had consistent contractions / dilation before birth which was very hard on my heart conditions. 

After surgery, I was a lot better. The recovery from a major surgery was significantly less pain than my normal VEDS pain.

Also dogs can TOTALLY tell when you’re pregnant.
