5 Signs of a Narcissistic Father
 * Emotional Invalidation: He lacks the capacity for empathy. A child’s emotions are often mocked, dismissed, or viewed as a "theatrical" attempt to steal attention. This teaches the child that their internal feelings are irrelevant.

 * The Child as an Extension: He does not see the child as an individual, but as a "self-object." He uses the child as a trophy to boost his status when they succeed, but reacts with narcissistic rage if the child’s choices or "failures" reflect poorly on him.

 * Conditional Affection: Love is weaponized. It is granted during moments of total compliance and abruptly withdrawn as a punishment. This often manifests as the "silent treatment," leaving the child in a constant state of anxiety to earn back his favor.

 * Chronic Competition: He must always be the "alpha." He may belittle his child’s achievements or even compete directly with them to prove his superiority. He often maintains control by fostering a "Golden Child vs. Scapegoat" dynamic among siblings.

 * Boundary Erasure: He views a child’s privacy as a personal insult or a threat to his control. This includes intrusive monitoring of private thoughts, digital life, or adult decisions, as he feels entitled to total access to the child's life.
