2016 Alina was obsessed with camera filters and skin tone because she had always heard that only fair skinned people are pretty. She could be cute or nice but not pretty or beautiful.

2016 Alina had just learned that she could laugh openly, and still look good. She had never laughed out loud before and when she did, it would always be with a hand on her mouth to cover her face because she was told she had big and crooked teeth and her smile didn't look good.

2016 Alina had two friends, one from her coaching class, the other in college who taught her how to smile with braces. And once her laughter echoed through the halls of her hostel, she never looked back.

2016 Alina didn't know how to say no. She was always saying yes to people, things, experiences. 

2016 Alina was pursuing engineering when she always knew literature was her thing. She was still writing everyday, trying to get picked as an in-house writer by the Anonymous Writer (which happened a few months later). 

2016 Alina had just got out of home, was learning to be on her own, smiling, laughing, making friends, doing things she was always scared of. She was learning to fly.

2016 Alina had small dreams. She wanted to read and build a home library of her own someday. She wanted to be loved and accepted for who she was. She wanted to make her parents proud someday. 

2016 Alina had only just dreamt of Meladunix, not knowing what it would become. 

2016 Alina would be in absolute awe of 2026 Alina. Might not even believe her eyes. She'd be mad proud of her twin sister (because there's no chance in the world they're the same person).
