You’ve got chunky pieces of beef, potatoes, carrots, and celery, all in a thick, rich brown gravy—very much in the style of a slow-cooked beef and vegetable stew (sometimes called beef bourguignon–style without the wine emphasis, or a hearty farmhouse stew).
