Most of us know our way around a clinical room, but we were never given the blueprints for the profession itself.

For the last two years, we’ve been inside the archives and the 100-year history of our field to understand how this house was built. The result is Inside SLP, a new 20-episode documentary podcast series.

It wasn't inevitable that we ended up here. Our professional story is a collection of improvised workarounds, federal funding booms, and quiet legal battles.

Chapter 1 is live now (Episodes 1-4). It’s a historical tour of our "Wild West" origins, from frost-covered tents in Montana to 1960s stuttering scams. We invite you to sit with curiosity and binge these first four episodes today to get the foundation.

Chapter 2 drops TOMORROW. Four brand-new episodes on "The Training Gap." We explore why our clinical education ended up as an "assemble at home" project after graduation (spoiler alert: SLP is not and has never been a professional degree, and the reasons for that are quite fascinating!).

The full 20-episode slate will be released in thematic chapters over the next month. Our history is a series of choices, which means our future is unwritten.
