They’re called floaters. They're tiny specks, threads, or cobweb-like shapes drifting across your vision, especially noticeable against bright backgrounds like the sky. They form when the gel inside your eye, called the vitreous humor, develops small clumps or strands. These cast shadows on the retina, which your brain interprets as moving objects. They move when your eyes move because they’re floating inside the fluid. Most are harmless and common, but a sudden increase can signal a retinal issue.
