Quick answer - an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) is a new evaluation done by a professional who is not employed by your child’s school district.

So what might make you say “Yep, we need this?"👇

➡️ The school’s evaluation feels off - it didn’t capture your child’s needs in speech, OT, PT, behavior, learning, or another key area

➡️ You’re being told “no disability found,” but your gut tells you otherwise

➡️ The recommendations aren’t enough and you feel that your child needs more support than what the school is offering

You have the legal right to request an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) at the school's expense if you disagree with the results their evaluation of your child.
