I belong to a nation of hardworking people who fought for their freedom and will do whatever it takes to protect it. Freedom is hard-earned—I wasn’t old enough to witness its struggle firsthand, but I now see how difficult it is to maintain.

This past week, the esteemed Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery plastikcerrahidernegi held its Winter Symposium, where I had the honor of moderating a talk with Prof. Dr. Koray Coşkunfırat prof.dr.koraycoskunfirat and presenting my own lecture on the crucial role of ptosis correction in facial rejuvenation surgery.

Normally, these gatherings are a source of inspiration—a chance to exchange knowledge and push our field forward. But this time, the feeling was bittersweet. Yet, we did what we do best: we worked passionately, with unwavering dedication to science, refusing to compromise.

I would like to thank the board and the organizing committee for honoring me with this opportunity.

Özgürlüğü için mücadele etmiş ve onu korumak için ne gerekiyorsa yapmaya hazır, çalışkan insanlardan oluşan bir milletin parçasıyım. Özgürlük zor kazanılır—mücadelesine bizzat tanıklık edecek yaşta değildim, ancak şimdi onu korumanın ne kadar zor olduğunu çok iyi anlıyorum.

Geçtiğimiz hafta, Türk Plastik, Rekonstrüktif ve Estetik Cerrahi Derneği’nin Kış Sempozyumu gerçekleşti. Bu değerli etkinlikte, Dr. Koray Coşkunfırat ile bir oturumu yönetme onuruna sahip oldum ve yüz gençleştirme cerrahisinde pitozis düzeltmenin kritik önemi üzerine kendi sunumumu gerçekleştirdim.

Bu tür toplantılar genellikle ilham verici olur—bilgi paylaşımının ve alanımızı ileriye taşımanın en güzel yollarından biridir. Ancak bu kez hissettirdiği duygu buruktu. Yine de biz, her zamanki gibi, bilimin sınırları içinde tutkuyla çalışmaya ve asla taviz vermeden üretmeye devam ettik.

Ülkem için en iyisini diliyorum.
