I used to be terrified of snakes my entire life until my first ayahuasca journey in 2020 when Grandmother threw me into a pit of snakes 🐍 for hours, barely able to breathe or move around and instead of searching for a way out, I turned into a Karen and began looking for the 📋 manager of the snake pit. 

I searched for the head of the snake for so long until finally in a classic twist, I realized it was me 😳 and I was the snake with thousands of babies I kept close to me. 

Metaphorically speaking, I was the one that was suffocating myself. Ahhh yes yes yes yes. Of course, we are our own worst fears. Finally I emerged out of the pit and vowed to never do ayahuasca again. ❌

It was horrible and I hated every second of it and still have not done ayahuasca since. We will see if I ever sit again… 🤔 

But 6 months after that journey, I was at a party in LA where I met the Claudius, aka thesnakefather and I found that my fear was completely gone. 👀 I immediately jumped to the front of the line to handle the snake and haven’t looked back since. 

Today I have a deep deep love ❤️ for all snakes and throw parties with snakes of all sizes! I know so many people are still scared of snakes, so I love sharing my love of snakes and watching my friends overcome their fears. 

Looking back, I realized that the pit of snakes was exposure therapy and as uncomfortable as it was, it really did work. Thanks Grandmother 🙏

There were a few years after my journey that I thought I wanted to have a pet snake, but realizing how much work it is and hearing stories of my friends’ snakes that eat live mice and sometimes go missing for a few weeks, I’m sure glad I have Claudius, thesnakefather who will bring snakes over to my house whenever I want! His schedule pending of course, he’s a busy guy. 

Since this party, more than five of my friends have thrown parties with snakes! Claudius also has chameleons and lizards and tarantulas. 🕷️ 🦎 🎉 

Jsyk, Snakefather did not ask me to make this post, I am simply in love with the work he does and going through my favorite memories in LA, this was definitely a top one. ☝️
