They say art imitates life. In films, we watch a grieving father challenge the system with a roar for justice — like the powerful portrayal by Irrfan Khan in Madaari. The theatre fills with emotion, and by the end, justice feels possible, almost certain.

But real life doesn’t follow a script.

On LBS Road in Mulund, a 6x4 foot parapet wall from Mumbai Metro Line 4 collapsed onto an auto-rickshaw. In a single, devastating moment, an ordinary commute turned into tragedy. Ramdhani Yadav lost his life. Three others were injured. A family was shattered — not by destiny, but by negligence.

The official response came quickly: an inquiry and safety audit were announced, financial compensation declared, penalties imposed on contractors and consultants, arrests made, suspensions issued. On paper, accountability seems visible.

But when a life is gone, can numbers truly measure the loss?

Fines can be paid. Reports can be filed. Headlines will fade. Yet for the family, the empty chair at home will remain. True justice is not only about compensation — it is about prevention. It is about ensuring safety is more than a formality and accountability is more than a temporary reaction.

This is not cinema. There is no dramatic climax, no heroic speech, no second take.

Only a harsh reminder: negligence costs lives.

The real question is not whether action was taken — but whether enough will change to ensure it never happens again.
