This photo…. Man 
, for the most part, reflects who I am, Today and who I was then. By 5ys old I’d made I had already made up my mind and started building my own archetype of the kind of man I wanted to be. In this photo I was well on my way.. I’m about 12 here ! 

Yes, that’s my younger, “crazier” brother Jason about to shoot me point-blank. Most likely aiming for my eye!!!

I still wear camouflage, and military is a significant part of my aesthetic.

The farm life is has a way of teaching you to survive , nature is as they say unforgiving. You really have to live with nature as she is gonna do as she pleases. 

I grew up in a town of just 256 people. About 80% of the town lived at the poverty level, while 18% were below poverty. The remaining 2% was split between the ultra-wealthy and the extremely impoverished. Guess which group I fell into. In the beginning, we didn’t have running water, heat, or reliable electricity. Touching the electrical box was like playing a high-stakes game of Operation—except instead of removing organs, you risked getting shocked. Nine times out of ten, you’d end up getting zapped no matter how careful you were.
Despite growing up in poverty, I was fortunate to have my mom and grandmother. They showered me with love and ensured I grew into a kind man  who understood what it means to love others. Through their support, I developed a strong sense of self and through art I emancipate myself from the chains of poverty. 

They recognized I was different and allowed me to become who I am. I was never asked to fit into a mold or wear a mask .. I was myself ! 

 And yes we were farmers , and in the distance that’s my “house” with a tin roof and no water .. 

Thank you mom for always being my best friend 
And Jason well I’ll never not miss you buddy! 
And thank you Granny for always loving me and teaching me about business (but not cooking)
